About the Artist
When reading the EPK for this artist, I couldn’t wait to dig into this music.
Laura Pieri is a Brazilian-born artist, currently in NYC. For many artists, there was a moment or an inspiration that drew them to pursue becoming a musician, but this isn’t the case for Pieri. Instead, it has always been a part of her identity. In turn, she has learned to give her music an identity, in and of its own; immersing herself in every instrument, every lyric and vocal melody, and beyond. She has a vision for each work that sometimes even extends – literally – into the production process in visualizers, music videos, even short films.
Debuting in 2019, Pieri released her debut single, What You Gonna Do, a coastal pop, dance track that simultaneously performs as a ballad, while at the same time, giving an energy that could fill a dance floor and keep patrons in any nightlife setting entertained.
Pieri kept her releases close to her chest, releasing one to two singles every year after 2019. Following What You Gonna Do, she released All I Need in 2020, Dante and Sail Away in 2021, then releasing 3 singles in 2022; Alternate Reality, Let Me Ride, and Heartbreaker. From start to finish, Pieri’s stylistic approach has been consistent. As she has showcased a strong ability in songwriting and composition from day one, her improvement has been more of a “fine tuning” process. There is always room to grow for an artist; Pieri would likely be the first to tell somebody this. From an observational standpoint, her early work is stellar and I have no notes.
Last year proved to be a bit of a turning point for Pieri, as she would release her first multi-track production, the 4-song EP, Frankie, on May 31st. Prior to this release, she released two singles along leading up to Frankie, GODDESS ENERGY and Daughter of Demeter.

Frankie, to me is a special EP. I really think this is Pieri’s statement piece. It is the same sound from all of her previous work but there is an energy that feels like a change from her. Like a new beginning. It is a determined album. I hear it when the first chord strikes in Sea of Tragedy and that vibe doesn’t go away.
Following Frankie, Pieri released the live album, Live at Bibliotheque.
About the Album
Frankie (ON THE DANCE FLOOR) is a remix album of Frankie, plus the single, Flown Away. It is the second EP by Brazilian artist, Laura Pieri. It features singles, in addition to Flown Away, Sea of Tragedy (ON THE DANCE FLOOR) and Daughter of Demeter (ON THE DANCE FLOOR). The 5-songs EP has a run time of 15 minutes and released on September 19th, 2025. Frankie (ON THE DANCE FLOOR) is in collaboration with LA-based producer, YXSH.
About the Music
“Frankie was about rebirth and self-discovery. Frankie on the dance floor is about embodiment; less thinking, more feeling. It reimagines the songs as a constellation of moods, showing different sides of Frankie’s story and letting her release her inhibitions.” ~ Laura Pieri
What I love about this quote by Pieri and what I love about Frankie (ON THE DANCE FLOOR) is that, for a “remix album” it doesn’t play like a remix album. Like, at all. As stated, the tone and the energy have completely evolved in every song.
Opening with Sea of Tragedy (ON THE DANCE FLOOR), the production really gives the music its moment; honing in on progressions and elements that truly invoke emotional reactions.
I’ve loved techno and club beat music for as long as I can remember. I love the Pacific beats that structure Pieri’s music. She and YXSH have truly captured the essence of that here as well.
The previously unreleased Flown Away is a beautiful addition to the retelling and reshaping of this story. Pieri’s vocal performance is memorable as she epitomizes the strength it takes to move on. Flown Away celebrates independence, letting go of damaging relationships, and literally rising above disaster.
Final Thoughts
Pieri is more than a pop R&B musician people can dance to. Her music is cerebral and contemplative, as she maneuvers through thoughts and emotions that can plague and overwhelm any of us; that have overwhelmed most of us. Her writing demonstrates a strength to survive these moments. Her melodies teach us how to rhythmically move on from them. That, to dance is more than pleasure and enjoyment, it’s therapeutic.
Laura Pieri is a musician who, like the themes of her music, rises above. Powerful melodies, inspiring lyrics, and a confident presence make her an artist you do not want to sleep on. Waste no time. Go press play.
