I’ve been writing for Fifteen Minutes of Fame for so long now, that it really feels like a part of who I am. It’s a part of my identity. That couldn’t make me happier.
I’ve learned that I can’t plan how it operates. In the last year, I’ve wanted to say things, do things, promote it in a way that will bring these amazing, talented artists to the light, to the center stage. Forcing that kind of thing is inorganic and unnecessary.
So, I’m not going to be researching “how to go viral,” I’m not going to oversell what this is. I’m not going to overextend myself by trying to make Fifteen Minutes of Fame more than what it is. It is exactly what it is supposed to be already. The people who want to find it, do find it. The people who want to be involved involve themselves. When the world seems to harsh, when things seem to hard, and when I don’t know where I will find the time, I find it.
Frankly, it’s always worked this way. I didn’t make Fifteen Minutes of Fame into anything. It became what it was supposed to be. There are thousands of online journalists; many are better and more important than me, but I am happy. I am proud.
About September
September was a marvelous month for FMOF. We did our second ever special campaign. I loved it because it gave me the opportunity to write some reviews I otherwise would have not been able to write. I got to review artists who have made an impact on me, an impact that left an impression for as long as I’ve been doing this. Artists like Anna Carmody.

I’ve been able to review a wonderful debut album by a promising new band in The Sleeper Service. For the first time in 25 years, I have had the absolute joy of listening to a new album by the legendary band, Unbelievable Truth, and for the first time, I got to listen to a band I idolize and tell them how much I loved their music and what it meant to me. I got to hear their gratitude in a response. I own an album of theirs and it has their signatures on it.
I am infinitely grateful for the privilege that Fifteen Minutes of Fame has given me.
How We’ve Grown
In September, FMOF have published 13 new articles; many bring spotlights. We featured 22 artists with new reviews, recaps, spotlights, blind reactions, Friday releases on CAN, and a new interview with Minnesota-based indie artist, Lexie Modica. You can watch my interview with them on YouTube.
We even, featured a recording artist from Brazil. Which means, another new country and for the first time ever, Fifteen Minutes of Fame have featured an artist in South America. Which now brings our total reach to 6 continents. We are one penguin-led band from being on every continent in the world. But a special thanks to Laura Pieri and her team at Tallulah PR + MGMT for introducing me to her wonderful music.
I don’t have very much to say about the numbers, or stats for September because I’ve honestly stopped concerning my self with them. I did notice that, earlier in the month we passed 4,000 site visits and are now sitting at more than 4,400 site visits, 2,500 site visitors, and over 20 subscribers. I am very proud. I love it so much.
Looking Ahead
Fifteen Minutes of Fame are going to continue to do what we continue to do. We are going to review independent artists. We are going to lift their music up as far as our shoulders will permit. We are going to help immortalize their legacies that might not be as big as other mainstream artists, but is no less important. Because music is a service we provide to entertain our civilizations. It’s how we begin to elaborate on love, or any other emotion. It’s how we support, it’s how we protest. Music is our voice. I want to continue to provide amplification to those voices.
October Campaign
Any artists with release from September 1st on, if you want to have your music reviewed, follow the How to Submit steps that can be found on the home page of the FMOF website here. Same goes for artists who have released a music video at any point in 2025.
Interview
There is an upcoming interview with the Oregon-based Golem Pink and we will have that available to you all shortly!

Elly Kace Special Feature: Part 2
This is technically going to be at the first of November, but I wanted to start getting the word out. Fifteen Minutes of Fame will be doing our first ever live event to do our take on a music healing session! I am not a sound healer. But I am a person who is trying to figure out my path in this world like the rest of us. This is going to be a time for anybody to come on and share stories, frustrations, and joys, a time to share experiences with exercises in calming and relaxation techniques, and a time to share some of the beautiful music that Elly Kace is releasing, ahead of her upcoming album, Seventh Gate.

Album Announcement
As many of you know, I’ve been working on a new album for two years now. From the writing process, to laying down the tracks, making changes, and going back to the drawing board, the experience has been a tolling one.
What I can tell you is this: this “solo album” is anything but solo. Frankly, it wouldn’t be happening without hard work and support provided by a number of people.
First, my wife and my kids. My wife is amazing. Every day she proves just how amazing she is by exceeding how amazing she was the day before. For her to support me in this speaks so much to who she is; the time she sacrificed while I was recording, the time she has invested in listening, providing feedback, providing her own artwork through her photography, and sharing this vision with me. Thank you so much.

Dan Grigson. Dan came on as producer and, since doing so, has breathed new life into to Evaporate. Where I was getting discouraged, he saw (heard) the potential and fought for the music. This album is just as much his as it is mine and wouldn’t exist in the way it does had it not been for his impeccable work.
To the artists who have contributed and collaborated: Dan (again) and Neccos for Breakfast, my mother Andrea Smith and her accomplished performance on the cello, two of my favorite FMOF artists; Circumstantial Saint and Uta K for cowriting and collaborating on one of the tracks, Brett Higgins of The Great Homesickness, and my father, who had posthumously demonstrated his passion for songwriting. A passion that he has clearly passed on to his son.
The album has been submitted to a vinyl distributor. Which means, I will have the release date very soon. There will be a lot of very exciting announcements to come. Simply put, I am very proud of this work and I cannot wait to share it with you.
Final Thoughts
In an effort to make this article all about me, I wanted to briefly take a moment to celebrate my 2nd EP, Internal Conflicts: A Suite in A Minor, as it celebrated the 10-year anniversary of its release on Monday. Overall, it has earned 120,000 streams which puts it right at 1,000 streams per month for the 10 years existed. That more than I could have ever asked for. For those of you who have taken the time to listen, thank you.
Going into October, we are winding down 2025. I’m not sure what to think of the year. I have some of the best memories of my life but it has also been shrouded with some of the darkest of times.
As it has always been and as it always will be, music serves as a beacon. A reminder. A lesson. It is our salvation. Keep plucking those keys, strumming those chords. Keep writing and singing. Keep recording and releasing. I’ll be right here with you, proudly waiting to go press play.
