There has been so much new music released in October, I have really had trouble keeping up.
What an amazing problem to have!

Cold Hearts by AiramFM
About the Artist
AiramFM, aka Maria, is an artist on the rise since the last time she was featured here. That is a detail that doesn’t surprise me in the least. She is a genuinely kind soul, she collaborates with some very talented musicians like Kat Yvonne and Jepz, and she is talented.
The Danish R&B/ Soul singer has a vision for her music and she is seeing it through. Since last featuring her song North Star, she has released 5 singles, including Tears and Blood and In Exile, which in the last 4 months have earned a combined 12,000 streams on Spotify.

About the Music
Cold Hearts is the 5th single released by Danish recording artist, AiramFM in 2025. This dreamy synth-pop and R&B song features AiramFM on lead and backing vocals accompanied by layered synths and programmed percussion. At 3 minutes and 45 seconds, Cold Hearts released on October 21st and already has a quite a bit of traction with nearly 2,000 plays in its first week since being released.
Maria is a modest, shy, and very polite young woman. When I speak with her, I hear a person who has no desire to be famous. She wants to make music because she loves it. She has a passion for it. She is a sympathetic, compassionate person. I don’t know if anyone else can attest to that more than her partner and collaborator, Jepz, who she has been with for more than a decade.
“Cold Hearts is a protest song against the state of the world, caused by the cold-hearted leaders who are fueled by a lust for power and deprived from empathy. More political than any of my previous songs, but I needed to speak up through my art. I hope it makes you feel something. And I hope it can be part of a manifestation for a better world.” ~ AiramFM
I needed to.
Never mind the technicality of her being a good vocalist. Her passion gets the audience before the purifying air of her melodies even reach us.
She is right. Cold Hearts is a darker, angrier song than what we are accustomed to hearing from her. She still delivers her message with elegance and class which is more than the recipients of her rage deserve.
“Do a reverse Robin Hood, gotta save the rich. Their empire built on the blood of the people.” “If you mourn the white man but not the genocide are you alright? You only cry when the privileged die.”
She doesn’t mince words. Yet, the rage is almost eluding me because the song is so pretty. Don’t get me wrong, the melody is melancholic. It’s just a beautiful production.
AiramFM doesn’t typically get political. This is an indicator that it suits her well when she does. It’s a sign that many people are taking notice. Many people are reaching the tipping point where they can no longer be silent. No longer stay put. Cold Hearts is about how the world learns they can no longer count entrust their leaders with the good of mankind. It’s on us.

Power by Dareen and DN
About the Artist
Polish/Lebanese recording artist Dareen has my attention. With a sound and writing style comparable to Lana Del Ray, she embodies femininity.
She debuted as a recording artist in 2024 with her single, In Disguise. She released 4 more singles in 2024, before this year where she has really worked to put herself on the map within our community of independent artists. In 2025, she has been on a steady track of releasing and collaborating with artists. In May, she collaborated with AiramFM, as they released Am I Broken.
Last month, she released two songs; Famine, an Arabic infused percussive and moving pop R&B upbeat piece and the more relaxed Strawberry Moonlight.
Dareen is a talented vocalist, she is strikingly beautiful, and she is hardworking. With every release, she shows her audience a clearer path, and a more determined drive to get there.
About the Music
Power is the 8th single release by recording artist, Dareen in 2025. It runs at around 4 minutes and 15 seconds. Releasing on October 23rd, it features Dareen on vocals and is in collaboration with DN. It released under Cosmic Alignment Sounds.
As mentioned before, she is very comparable to Lana Del Ray. There is this element to the tonal quality of her voice that I wouldn’t call raspy but almost filters the purity behind the tone in her voice. Another artist that reminds me of is Lykke Li. It is a memorable distinction that keeps the artist in the head of her audience.
The production value of Power is perplexing. I love the synth that pulses throughout the song. I love how it hits without an “accident.” With each “beat” it would hit but doesn’t, it creates a space of existence that I liken to a black hole. It’s not directly audible, like how (until recently) we had never seen a black hole but could prove its existence by the gravitational force it possesses. The rest of the instrumentation pulls to these unheard “hits,” showing us that they are still there. It is very applicable for a song titled Power.
Darren’s voice is delivered through her breathy- airy voice, with almost a whispered element. There is strength behind the vocals but it is a quiet strength. It’s the kind of delivery that is going to belt a note for the entire room to hear but it’s going to feel like she is singing directly to you in a room full of people.
Dareen is a captivating musician. If she wants to make a name for herself, she is doing it the right way.
