~ About the Artist ~

Growing up in Nashville, I understand the importance of being raised in a music scene that dominates its community. All of my friends were musicians. At some point, it was no longer surprising to learn somebody could sing, play guitar, piano, or drums. Everybody was in a band-everybody. It is awesome. Nashville’s not the only music scene, but they’re certainly one of the biggest ones.

Of course there are other big places, like LA, New York, and Austin. Then there are smaller, emerging scenes that aren’t as talked about. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for example. This popping epicenter for tourists has always had a quiet but respectable scene with regard to music and the musicians performing it. I have a feeling that is all about to change.

Jordi is a young talent on the rise that isn’t just making a name for herself, she’s putting the entire music scene on notice. The 22 year old released her debut single in 2022. Hate You was an immediate success. Pulling from an audience she established as a content creator through TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube, Hate You ended up charting, trending on Snapchat, and earned more than 20 million streams on Spotify. Her following singles, Just a Friend and My Problem also found plenty of success, each earning millions of streams of their own, respectively.

In 2025, Jordi began releasing a sequence of singles. First with the Valentine’s Day release, Unlearn You, she consistently released 5 more singles up to her November release of Over Love. Each single building from the last, Jordi has created an overwhelming amount of momentum ahead of the release of her debut album.

Growing up in a home that encouraged artistic expression, Jordi immersed herself in dance, music, and more. One of the first on the scene for TikTok, she built a platform as a content creator before testing the musical waters by performing covers on TikTok and YouTube. Fast forward, Jordi is drawing comparisons to artists like Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.

~ About the Album ~

Jordi is the debut, self-titled LP by South Carolina indie artist, Jordi. This 12-song album runs at just over 30 minutes and released on January 16th. Featuring Jordi on vocals, it has been released through the indie label, Sound Factory Records.

Jordi builds on the momentum from the success of its singles preceding this release. Pretty Intentions, Butterflies, Unlearn You, and Different have all earned more than a million streams and Over Love has more than 600,000 after just releasing in November!

But more importantly, the music is great. I’m not trying to butter readers up by reciting stats. This can all be learned by visiting Jordi’s Spotify profile. What I hear is an artist that has a deep connection with the rhythm of her music; as if it were her very own heartbeat.

“Releasing a self-titled album kinda feels like saying ‘Hey world! It’s me.’ It sounds intimidating, but I truly think the through line in the music I’ve made for this project is me, which I find really exciting. Being able to share something I love so much, and to connect with people through that music, feels incredibly special.” ~ Jordi

At 12 songs and 32 minutes, the album has a very smooth flow and transition from song to song. Each song has movement. There are no ballads. The opener, U Know I Know, sets the pace with perfection. It is the perfect dance song, and would play great in any club.

My favorite song on the album is the last song on the album, Sincerely Not Yours. I think this song is empowered. It still features the rhythmic prowess that is prominent on the rest of the album, but there is a focused delivery of the message of the song. It is enriched with femininity, independence, and growth. It exhibits a person who has developed a strength to move on from toxic traits that are designed to manipulate their victims and keep drawing them back in.

~ Final Thoughts ~

With resounding acclamations for each of the releases of her singles, it is no surprise that the anticipation for Jordi’s debut album is absolutely worth the wait. The album has the same desired qualities of each of her singles. It is a fluid, rhythmic, work of art. It consists of songs that play like a dance, which will naturally make them easy to dance to. Given Jordi’s background in dance, it is brilliant and no surprise that she has found a way to bridge the two arts.

Jordi has surpassed the debate of whether or not she will break out as an artist. Though technically still independent, she is catching the attention of the music industry with independent management, labels, and more supporting her as she builds her brand. She has done most of it herself, with millions of followers across her social media platforms, she has a vision that has catapulted her into a pattern of success. Long story short, it’s no longer an “if” question but a “when” question. Jordi is such a good album that it could honestly happen by the time I finish writing this sentence.

As a society, we love to have the bragging rights of being at the beginning of a musician’s career; to “know them” before they were “famous.” If you, the reader, can identify with that, this is an opportunity to witness just that. Jordy is sensational. She is proven. She continues to accomplish. She checks every single box there is to be a pop star. All that’s left to do is for us to go press play.
