It’s funny what a new sunrise brings. For instance, when I woke up, I had never heard the name Alya Elouissi. With one little press of a button, that’s forever changed. That is true for every single musician and every single listener at some point in time. One of my greatest joys is the fact that, most days, I get to say I know one more artist’s work than I did the day before. I want the readers of Fifteen Minutes of Fame to know that joy, because it has changed me. It has encouraged many of the artists I’ve featured. I believe it can change the readers who accept that challenge too.
Alya Elouissi is a Slovenian-Algerian independent artist and actress. She is a prominent voice for cinematic pop in the region, and the first female Slovenian artist to break into the Afrobeat genre.
Elouissi gained international recognition for her collaborative single, Give Me Your Time, which has earned 60,000 streams on Spotify. She debuted in 2017 with the release of her single, The One. With a list of successful attributions like a Top 100 charting single in Nigeria, airplay on MTV Base West, and festival appearances, Alya Elouissi continues to build from the momentum from Give Me Your Time. She’s had substantial radio play in the UK, US, Mexico, Slovenia, and Brazil, with hopes to bring her music to a larger audience.
“I’m sharing this now because I feel there are many people quietly going through similar experiences – trying to make sense of heartbreak, loss, and rebuilding while still inside it.” ~ Alya Elouissi

Love’s For Two
Love’s for Two is the first release by Slovenian independent artist, Alya Elouissi in 2026. It is an alt/cinematic pop song that runs at a little more than 4 minutes and features Elouissi on leading and backing vocals, supported by a full ensemble band. It released on May 8th, and it was independently released by Alya Elouissi.
I’ve listened to this song several times, as well as some of her other work. I have to say, I think this is a significant release for Elouissi. In my opinion, this is absolutely her best work. I love a good, anthemic melody with a clear story and Love’s for Two has that.
“Love’s for Two is a cinematic indie pop track centered on the moment a relationship becomes one-sided, and the process of rebuilding after an unexpected breakup.” ~ Alya Elouissi
I’m taken aback by the fact this is two days in a row I have heard a really powerful song about love. While Little Green’s track dealt with the full spectrum of the emotion, Elouissi’s song is more targeted on the trauma of loss.
Alya Elouissi has an incredibly powerful alto voice. She performs very well in her lower register but can truly stop an audience in their tracks when she transitions to her upper register.
I think the real moment of this song is the resolve within the chorus. Elouissi completely takes the song to a whole new level. I can feel how personal this is to her. I can almost feel the hurt that inspired the song and the desire to rise above it. She truly connected with me in this moment and it changed the dynamic of the song for me.
I want to reiterate that I think this is Alya Elouissi’ best song from what I’ve heard. I look forward to taking a closer listen and I really want to hear what’s next from her. This is an artist I absolutely recommend.
