There was a lot of incredible music released in the month of June. Every time I turned around, there was something new and incredible to listen to! In the FMOF and CAN! – verse, it was the same. Great new music to be heard by one and all. Today, I want to examine the work of three FMOF alumni; Jenn DeSantis, Novelley, and Nathalie Miranda.

Recap of Jenn

If you are familiar with Fifteen Minutes of Fame, you are familiar with Jenn DeSantis. She’s been featured in a Blind Reaction, she’s been featured in a Review, and she has often been referenced.

Here lately, Jenn has been staying busy wrapping a short tour coinciding with pride that have seen stop throughout the Northeast in places like New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and more. She has one more show upcoming at the New Cumberland Pride in New Cumberland, PA before breaking from the road until October.

About the Song

Genius Daydream is the first release by DeSantis in 2025, after the December 2024 release of Running Up That Hill. Releasing on June 17th, Genius Daydream is a groovy, mid-tempo, synth driven jam that runs a little over 4 minutes.

As with many Jenn DeSantis tracks, Genius Daydream is powered by powerful and unique vocal performance, and expertly-crafted melodic performances instrumentally. Jenn obeys all the rules when plotting a chord progression, but she’s not afraid to shake things up with an unpredictable bridge, a vocal part that comes from nowhere and transitions the song, or an element added by synth or percussion that make it impossible to settle in with the song.

As far as musicianship goes, Jenn DeSantis is an artist that separates herself from the pack. She is a dedicated student of music, always presenting her listeners with something new and creative to challenge their listening experience. The only thing she ever consistently does is to be extraordinary.

I Made Tea by Novelley

Cover Art

Across the pond, in Germany, Novelley has steadily been releasing new music. Since reviewing her lovely song, The Trembling Waltz, which has garnered nearly 30,000 streams on Spotify in the 9 months it’s been released, she has released 8 other singles that have all shown similar success on the platform.

About the Song

I Made Tea is the 5th single released by Novelley in 2025, including one remix of Love’s Debt.

I Made Tea released on June 19th, 2025, and features Novelley performing on vocals and the ukulele. Accompanied by small piano, synth, and chimed arrangements, this sweet little folk ballad is emotionally striking.

Novelley’s delivery is a striking one as she performs through a whisper, often compelling her listeners to lean into the intricacies that are put into the lyrical content of her work. I Made Tea is a fitting example:

“The hospice halls were quiet then, linoleum and monitor screens. You lay there still, and time sat with us. Brought you strawberries and cream. Your children stayed away that day, old wounds too loud to share. But she stayed, and I stayed, and silence filled the air. So I made tea…”

Novelley has an incredible vision for interpreting real world experience and translating it to its most relatable form artistically. With a gift like that, she remains an artist I look forward to hearing every time I see a new release.

Lazy by Nathalie Miranda

Cover Art

If we wind back to the very first month of doing Fifteen Minutes of Fame, that is where we will find our first introduction to London-based pop artist, Nathalie Miranda. Her funk-infused jam, U Got Soul was strikingly unique, as it was a retro feeling song that fit right into the 21st century, and its high energy was matched with a wonderfully unique vocal performance by Miranda. Her deep, vibrant alto performance almost seems out of place for her small frame, but she’s hardly the first example of a small frame harnessing a big voice.

In addition to her unique performance, U Got Soul was accompanied by a visually colorful and stunning music video. Unfortunately, back then I hadn’t begun doing Blind Reactions, otherwise, this music video would have been a great video to feature.

Today, redemption is the name of the game, as Miranda has released a new song and with it, a new music video!
