For the start of June, I thought it would be fun to post an open call for artists to introduce themselves. The idea would be to welcome some new artists into the FMOF family. Well, after well over a hundred responses, I definitely have my hands full! In an effort to get to as many of these artists as possible, I am going to do a series of Spotlight Articles that will serve as introductions to groups of these artists at a time.

Another note: it has not alluded me that this is officially the 300th article (!!!!) published on this platform. What a perfect way to commemorate by reflecting on FMOF’s humble beginnings, as I started this platform by reaching out to artists via Threads to see who would like to be reviewed. As we approach the 2 year anniversary, my heart is bursting that this is still something people are getting something from.

Cheers!

Phoenix by Krizzy Clamor

Phoenix, cover Art

I am very excited to be covering this artist. Krizzy Clamor didn’t actually submit a song. Her response simply said, “Hi! Maybe you’d like to consider some of my songs,” with a link to her Spotify profile. So, I get to choose what to listen to? I’m in! I pull up the profile and her latest release is a song called Phoenix that she released in 2024. Phoenix just happens to be my daughter’s name. Easy choice.

Who is Krizzy Clamor? She is an indie acoustic folk artist from Manila, Philippines. She is an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, she is a women’s empowerment advocate, and she is a mental health awareness advocate. She is passionate about eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Phoenix is a piano ballad that released October 25th, 2024 (just 5 days before my daughter’s 17th birthday). It runs at 3 minutes and 45 seconds and features Krizzy Clamor on vocals, accompanied by piano, cello, and a brief solo acoustic guitar. Clamor is a powerful vocalist with a range that is strongest in a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She performs with a bit of a whisper to her vocals and she has a rich vibrato. Her pitch is spot on. I sense there may be a classical background in her training. The composition is also very beautiful. The players are very talented and pave the way for a magnificent performance Clamor. This is a beautiful song.

Proud of Me by Jamyno

Proud of Me, Cover

Jamyno is an indie funk and blues pop artist out of Lauf an der Pegnitz, Germany. She cites influences in pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz. She writes “music from the heart,” and she also promises there is more to come!

Proud of Me is the latest release by Jamyno. It released on May 22nd of 2020. It runs at 2 minutes and 54 seconds. It features Jamyno with a full band and is stylistically funk-infused pop rock. Jamyno’s vocal performance relies heavily on it’s physically powerful presence. She doesn’t use a lot of vibrato. She has a strong cadence and her lyrics are empowering.

Sweet Whisper 2006 by Citizen Audrey

Sweet Whisper 2006, Cover Art

Our final artist for today is one that is a FMOF favorite. Citizen Audrey is a phenomenal alt pop artist out of Australia and New Zealand. She features an incredible vocal performance throughout all of her work and often is praised for giving her audience different looks at her releases. She has a strong and growing social media presence with 10s of thousands of followers across her combined platforms and usually has more than 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her release, Enigma of the State, from March of 2025 has earned more than 225,000 streams in just over a year.

Sweet Whisper 2006 released in March of 2026 and features Citizen Audrey singing in front of a synth and acoustic guitar accompaniment. It is a spatially enchanting song with heavy reverb and a hint of echo/delay that opens the sound space of this song. The vocal performance is hypnotic and the visualizer is simply stunning as Citizen Audrey seems to look right through the camera and into the souls of each one of her listeners. She has incredible dynamics, as she can sing in a whisper and build to a full and powerful vocal performance. She is absolutely one of my favorite vocalists to cover. This song is another example of an artist who is radio ready. There is nothing I could say that would be feedback that might help her improve. She is there, she is ready. She just needs to be heard.

Final Thoughts

As we move forward in June, I hope to put one or two Spotlight articles out every week. Some days, there may be 2-3 artists featured in the article, and some days there may be 5. It depends on how much time I have to work into the article when it comes. For those who are familiar with FMOF, I like to put an extra bit of effort into the writing process for our articles. That means I like to dig into the artist, listen to their catalog, and put out a full article. There is absolutely no A.I. used in the writing process. I am the journalist and the editor and sometimes, there are grammatical imperfections in these articles. Really, they’re glorified journal entries inspired by the music I am writing about that day. They are not emotionally unbiased, in fact, I pour my emotion into writing these articles. If you are an artist that is interested in being fully featured, make sure to follow me. Go to fmofmusicentertainment.com and click on the “How to Submit Music or a Video” Page on the toolbar. It walks through the official submission method step by step. Artists are never required to pay for reviews. In two years, I’ve never accepted a payment from one single artist and I won’t. I just ask you pay it forward. Share the article, refer other artists, and follow the FMOF socials so we can continue to get the word out. Look, there are a lot of different associations who are fixated on preying on independent artists with empty promises about helping them get famous. These musicians don’t need another entity doing that. I just ask you do one thing: Go Press Play.
