July has been a really strong month for music and we’re only half way through it. With some great releases still on their way, I wanted to share with you all some of the new releases I’ve been listening to:

Wake by Jon Hopper

In a year that has already gifted listeners with his debut album, Jon Hopper hasn’t stopped writing and releasing music. After The Green Fuse, Hopper released the single, Ghost, a collaboration with Dame Fawn Denier, and then a second single, Beach, was released early last month.

Today, his third single, ahead of a second album in the same year, is releasing. Wake, a 4-minute acoustic pop song, was written and performed by Hopper and gives a little bit of a different look at his upcoming release. Where Ghost and Beach were heavily orchestrated around a piano accompaniment, with Wake we get to hear how talented Hopper is on the guitar.

13th Floor by Caroline Quinn

Caroline Quinn, an experimental indie pop musician out of the Philadelphia area, released her second single of 2026.

13th Floor, releasing on July 10th, runs at around 4 minutes and was written, performed, and released by Quinn. This synth heavy mid-tempo pop song has an attractive melody, a simple beat, and features a fluid and airy vocal performance by Quinn.

Caroline Quinn is a very talented vocalist who has a little bit of “weird” to her songwriting approach that makes her a standout performer. Following the release of her biggest song to date, Alien on my Mind, in 2024, Quinn released her debut EP last year (The End of May, released on June 27th). I first came across Quinn in 2024 with the release of her song, Moonlight in the Day, which had a little bit of a more organic accompaniment and featured an extraordinary vocal performance.

This is a dynamic musician with a diversity of sound. She is certainly one to follow and if there is anyone in the Philly area, she can be seen at upcoming 2nd Street Festival, as well as a show at Silk City Diner on August 6th.

Color Me Mine by Longwinded

Color Me Mine, Cover Art

Heading out to the West Coast, indie punk band Longwinded have released their first song of 2026, ending a 9-month span of time since their last release.

Color Me Mine is a 3-minute, percussion-driven punk rock song, infusing metal and “scream-o” influences into the vibe. It is high energy and absolutely an entertaining listen.

Final Thoughts

This is just a quick look at some of the really awesome releases that have already come out this month. There are so many more to check out like this beautiful new single by Dame Fawn Denier, An Indefinite Dream, Midtown Blue by indie artist Paris Street, and new music from Katie Dwyer, which is always exciting to hear! Check out her new song, I’m Still Here.

If you are like me and you have a bottomless appetite for new indie music, fear not. There is plenty to eat!

Go press play!
