I was reading about this theory in physics last night that relates to a conversation my wife and I were having recently. It’s called Quantum Immortality. Essentially, our consciousness moves through different realities eternally. Rather than dying, our consciousness wakes in a new reality, as it ends in another.

I think in each of these possible realities, Novelley would be a constant example of an artist who just keeps getting better.

I’ve been listening to Novelley for two years now, since the release of her song, The Trembling Waltz. That song truly resonated with me. I featured it in a review, I used it for the credits in my documentary, Fifteen Minutes, that released a year ago, and I’ve probably added it to nearly 10 playlists.

We are two months removed from when her album, Fly/Fall released; an album that’s on a very short list for my favorite of the year. I noticed that there were two songs missing from Fly/Fall that had recently been released as singles and wondered if there was something significant about that.

Time and Space

Time and Space is Novelley’s fifth official release in 2026, after one album and 3 singles. It released on July 16th, 2026, and features a new single, Time and Space, along with previously released singles Maybe So and Maybe Why. This 3 song EP runs at 8 minutes and features Novelley doing it all, as she wrote, performed, and produced everything that can be heard in this collection of music. It was released under Melancholics Anonymous Records

I follow Novelley on all of her social media platforms. It’s something I really enjoy following along with. She is always practicing, always working with different instruments, experimenting with playing something live, and incorporating different styles and sounds to what she’s working on.

Time and Space represents everything she is best at as a musician. Layers and layers of vocals performed in her upper register, layers of acoustics, complex but subtle percussion. Hidden tones that creep into the production, adding elements to the song without the listener even truly aware it’s there.

Chicken or the egg:

I don’t know what happened first; if I started really connecting with this new wave of folk, then heard Novelley, or if I heard Novelley then started connecting with this new wave of folk. Either way, the timing was perfect. There are many artists that served as a reminder to why I keep coming back to this raw organic music. Novelley makes a case to be of the very best of them.
