This weekend, I was flipping through videos on TikTok (something I do too often). I found this profile, NoFanZone, and his post “Day 58 of finding Spotify artists with less than 100 listeners who deserve a lot more.” I decided to check some of them out.

Alone by Carissa Alyse Barrett. Spotify monthly listeners: 28. Click on the album artwork to hear the song. Alone is a raw R&B ballad and the ability to connect deeply with its listeners.
Decisions, Decisions by Noah LaPook. Spotify monthly listeners: 25. LaPook is an artist out of New York. His sound is very organic and almost has gospel feel to it, though I think it would be considered alt-folk or pop-folk by most.

Hope You Get What You Deserve by Charlotte Dickson. Spotify monthly listeners: 102. This song actually came out in 2023. She has a more recent EP that released in August. You should also listen to Nervous.
REQUIEM by Austin Mori. Spotify Monthly Listeners: 55. REQUIEM is a hip hop song performed in front of an old blues/jazz sample that sounds like it could have been in an old Noir Detective movie.

The Moves by Lou Emery. Spotify monthly listeners: 277. Emery, out of Los Angeles, California, is a pop artist and her song, The Moves is a blend of a variety of sounds. There are moments that experiment with rock sounds, while the entire track plays over a Latin beat.
Ok, so not all of the artists were under 100 monthly listeners, but I can attest these each deserve WAY more than they’re getting. Or, we can go find them on bandcamp and buy their music and they can actually be appropriately paid for their art. Either way we choose to appreciate the artist, let’s do that!
Go press play!
