This is my first venture into South Korean hip hop and I’m fucking hooked. Independent artist, AZUNTA, released his latest A/B side single, titled SHIV, which consists of the songs I Need Red and Med and it legit sounds like watching a David Fincher film in the 90’s.

AZUNTA explained to me his work is more focused on experimenting with loops, repetition, and fragmented vocal performance but it is inspired by hip hop.

I can’t get over how awesome the distortion sounds on the samples. There’s no beat, no bass. Yet it is so full of sound and it feels distressing. This would perfectly feature in the horror genre.
