“The sun’s gonna rise and the sun’s gonna set. But there’s stuff in the middle, it’s a riddle that I just don’t get.” ~Sprawler Fu
I keep saying it. I say it so much that I’m going to just stop saying it. Sprawler Fu keeps getting better. Since Fēn Shēn, she’s released another album’s worth of singles. The progression from then to now is just incredible. It’s particularly remarkable because the content on Fēn Shēn is so good already.
I’ve enjoyed every one of her new singles. Every one. Last year, she put out one of the best songs of the entire year, in my opinion. Today, she has released one of my favorite songs of this year.

Blanket is the latest release by Dutch-British indie artist, Sprawler. It’s her 6th single of 2026 and it releases today, November 6th. It runs a couple ticks under 3 minutes. It is written, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered by Sprawler Fu.
Musically, I think this is one of her best songs. It’s not overproduced; it’s almost stripped down in comparison to other releases of hers. The percussion is really taking form in her most recent work. I’m particularly impressed by her restraint not to overdo because I have it on good authority (her authority) that she is rather meticulous and a self-described perfectionist.
Though one could argue this track is perfect.
Lyrically, I think this is her best song to date. There are so many quotable moments throughout. I really love the chorus. I love the line towards the end where she says “Safe in bed all day and night, the ‘crockerdiles’ are out of sight.” There is so much more. I could write repeat the entire lyric sheet, honestly. It’s all good.
Sprawler Fu is the authority on being a DIY indie artist. She is the reason I believe with my whole chest that the system is a rigged “pay for play” system. She releases music consistently. She posts content regularly. Any one of her posts from 2026 fit all of the criteria for something that could go viral. The fact that not one of them has is highly suspect.
Sprawler Fu is the most productive one-person team I’ve featured on this platform. She writes and composes all of her releases. She is her own recording engineer, she mixes, and she masters, all from her home studio.
She is also the writer, actress, director, production designer, editor, and cinematographer for all of her self-produced music videos and visualizers. Also, she is the costume and set designer, often thrifting for materials, or making extravagant things to include. She finds great locations outdoors and she can transform a space to create the exact setting she needs.
There are half a dozen songs of Sprawler Fu’s music that should be on at least one of every single person’s playlists. I listen to her music every single day. It’s time everyone else start doing so too.
Go press play.
