As we get ready for a new release Friday that should feature a collection of wonderful Indie talents, I wanted to take a look at some of the submitted work for the month of July. There have been so many great submissions and there is still plenty of month to go. With this Spotlight submission, there is a little bit of everything. We will be recapping an artist we have featured in a review, we will be recapping an artist we have featured in a Blind Reaction, and we will be introducing two new artists to the FMOF and CAN! Communities! Before we get into that, I want to point out a couple of releases that have already happened this week: today, Elly Kace released the second single off of her upcoming album. Trust me when I say there is more to come with regards to this highly anticipated release, but in the meantime, be sure to check out Even With the Lights On. Also, Novelley, who was just featured in another recent Spotlights article has a brand new release for her song, Maybe Why.

Quiet Hours by Tripendicular
Release date, July 10th, on Bandcamp
About the Artist
The last time we caught up with Kentucky- based electronic artist, Tripendicular, Fifteen Minutes of Fame featured his single, Iced Out, in one of our very first Blind Reaction videos. Since then, Tripendicular has released 7 more singles, not including the one that will be featured in today’s article.
Tripendicular is a very talented artist who we have reviewed and done a Blind Reaction for. Blending electronic music with alternative rock, his influences span anywhere from 80’s to 90’s U2 to 90’s early 2000’s Moby. Tripendicular, aka Todd Groemling, is a very selfless, humble artist who simply makes music because it is what drives him. He has no drive to be famous, he’s not driven by money. His passion for entertaining is heavily rooted into the origin of “the artist.” He simply wishes to bring joy to whoever listens. Whether it’s 10 people, or a million.
About the Song
Quiet Hours is the 6th single released by Louisville, Kentucky artist, Tripendicular. It has a run time around four minutes and thirty seconds. Though most of Tripendicular’s music is heavily influenced by electronics, Quiet Hours is guitar-driven and more organic sounding, with a steady level of reverb mixed into the track.
As the song comes in, it sounds like alt-rock with a subtle hint of 60’s pop rock. As is customary with Tripendicular’s music, the chorus truly sells the song the song, as the layers are incorporated into the overall composition, and the soundscape totally opens up.
After the second verse, Quiet Hours transitions into this building, evolving bridge, then leads into the climactic final chorus adding a layer of synth that strikes a heavy emotional chord.
For an artist to release, now 15 singles over the course of two years, and for them all to be done as well as they are, this very well may be his best work to date.

Ride or Die by J Reaper
Release Date, June 20th, 2025
About the Artist
J Reaper, out of Chicago, is an artist that more recently caught the attention of FMOF. In June, J Reaper was featured in an episode of Blind Reactions, which can be viewed here. J Reaper is a dynamic talent whose music features a blend of genres, spanning from alternative rock and emo, to hip hop and “glitch rap.”
A true “one man show,” J Reaper exhibits somebody who is very detail-oriented and passionate about the production value of his music, his videos, and his overall market appeal. Having debuted in 2022, he has released a number of singles. In 2024, he released his debut EP, Heartache Hotel. Earlier this year, J Reaper released his debut full length LP, the 9-song, 26 minute album, All Time Low.
About the Song
Ride or Die is the 4th single, and 5th release by Chicago-based artist J Reaper in 2025. Releasing on June 20th, 2025, it has a run time of just under 3 minutes. Ride or Die was performed and recorded by J Reaper and was released through HeartlxssCollective.
Like his other releases, Ride or Die has distinguishable influences spanning from rock, rap metal, emo, and hop hop. Musically, it features programmed percussion, synth overlays, guitar and sub synths for the bass.
Vocally, Reaper performs lead and backing vocals. The performances span from heavy autotuned glitch rap performance, to emo or “screamo” performances, then there are smoother less automated backing vocals. There is a bit of hyper-pop influence to his music as well. Artist comparisons can span from Linkin Park to Glaive, aldn, and juice WRLD.
Ride or Die is structured stylistically like hyper-pop, in that it transitions in dynamic presentation and not as much in progression. It focuses heavily on lyrical content and is produced with precision.
Ride or Die is upbeat, driven, it has a lot of bounce, and is very catchy. This is a song that could easily find its way onto any summertime playlist. Furthermore, J Reaper is producing a high quantity of high quality music and he is sounding better with each release. In just 3 years of releasing music, he is definitely an artist to pay close attention to!

Esente per amore by Fakkinautika featuring Sara V
Release Date, June 9th, 2025
About the Artist
Fakkinautika, out of Turin, Italy has been performing for 20 years. Formerly know as Sklerks, and once performing as a band, they are now the solo project name of Federico F.
Coming back from a 5 year break from music during the pandemic, Federico F began to revisit music, blending his older pop/punk and rock beginnings with a passion to play blues and club music. Once focusing on vocal work himself, he is branching out and introducing the vocalist, Sara V, in his newer work. Fakkinautika appear to be poised to releasing a new album, as there have been two releases already grouped to this project, with the third release being the subject of this review.
About the Song
Esente per amore is the third release by Italian artist, Fakkinautika, in 2025. Featuring singer Sara V, it is part of a 3-song release for the EP, Problemi da Primo Mondo. At just under 4 minutes and 30 seconds, it released on June 9th, 2025
Essence per amore is the fusion song I didn’t know I needed. But now, having heard it, I can’t stop listening! As the song opens, we’ve got an upright bass, a jazz swing percussion, two clean rhythm guitars playing accompanying chord progressions behind Sara V’s vocals, which are smooth, sultry sounding to the style of jazz/blues. Frankly, it feels like walking into a night club in the 40’s or 50’s.
Then….
About midway through the song, a full kit fills into the song and we have ourselves a hard-hitting, guitar solo-infused punk/grunge TAKEOVER! I’m not kidding when I say this is done so well. If that’s not enough, Sara V’s vocal performance transitions right with the song!
The song is in Italian and I, unfortunately, am having some issues translating, but it does not deter from the enjoyment of experiencing this wonderful music.
As the song closes, it just gets louder, hits harder, and sounds all the more glorious. This truly is one of the most original fusion songs I have ever heard in my life. It’s dirty, it’s mean, and it is completely unexpected.

Know Our Own Worth by Dame Fawn Denier
Release date, June 27th, 2025
About the Artist
In an all too predictable world, I’ve learned to pay attention to unexpected things. We have to learn to prepare for unexpectedly bad things. We must celebrate the unexpectedly good things.
The world only seems like it is losing its mind right now, but truth be told, it’s not. Mankind follow the same patterns over and over and we don’t think they could be any more shocking until they are. Then we like to judge our history and say “how could we have done this?” or “how could we have let this happen?” only to turn around and do it or let it be done once again. It is predictable.
Human beings react to the patterns in many ways. Some of us write songs, some of us protest, some of us align. Maybe some of us simply observe. Dame Fawn Denier chose to make us laugh.
Dame Fawn Denier, is a comedic drag performer, from Doncaster, England. She began writing songs later in her life, at the age of 51, during Covid lockdown, when she was desperately seeking an outlet like most of the world was. Before that, she would do parody covers of songs. She told me, “I had previously written parody lyrics to famous songs, most notably ‘Tomorrow’ from Annie which is now a lesbian-themed song called ‘Your Mum Will Come Out Tomorrow.’”
I mean, I had to listen. I need a good laugh. We all need a good laugh and she sounds like she knows how to make people laugh.
About the Song
Know Our Own Worth is the second single released by British independent recording artist, Dame Fawn Denier. It released on June 27th, 2025. It has a run time of 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Piano and vocals were performed by Dame Fawn Denier, and produced and released by Adrian McLeay (Denier).
This.
This was unexpected.
Dame Fawn Denier, the comedic performer, dressed in drag, who has the intention to entertain by making her audience laugh with songs about mom’s coming out, not being “cunts” on Christmas, and other delightfully hilarious numbers, has done something different. Something extraordinary.
Know Our Own Worth is a plead to society; a call to stand together and be better. To have higher standards for ourselves and each other. To care for one another.
This sweet, gentle piano ballad strikes an emotional chord and it resonates to my very core. No, I’m not laughing but I am absolutely moved.
Dame Fawn Denier is more than a comedian. She’s more than just a performance artist. She is a social justice warrior. She is standing up for freedoms being taken from minorities unfairly. She is standing up for independent musicians being taken advantage of by corporate greed. She is standing up for the hardships of trying to fit into the working class and being part of the 90% that fights for the scraps the financially elite allow us to have.
I also know that she completed recording and producing this song just before experiencing a serious medical incident. It just amplifies how hard it can be from one day to the next. How, no matter how much we try, we can’t alway plan for unexpected things.
Dame Fawn Denier has given us a powerful message. How will we hear it?
