I truly cannot believe how quickly we’ve seen 2025 just fly by. As we roll into the last month, I want to take a look at some of the events from November.

What Happened in November?

In November, we saw 11 new articles published to the FMOF website: that includes 3 new individual reviews, 3 new Spotlight articles, 3 new Blind Reaction articles, a Special Feature review including the first ever podcast video review, and a Special Edition article. All in all, we featured 17 artists, including 6 new artists who have not previously been featured by FMOF.

Part 2 of Elly Kace Special Feature

If you haven’t seen it yet, part 2 of the Special Feature album review of Elly Kace’s upcoming album, Seventh Gate, released in November. This part, a video blog review of all of Kace’s released songs for Seventh Gate to date, signifies the first of a new segment Fifteen Minutes of Fame will be opening up to artists.

I am really excited to roll this feature out, but we are going to take it slow and try it a couple of different ways, to see how it best fits into the platform. There will be one maybe two episodes featured per month, to start. I am going to try to do one singular review and one spotlight episode to start and then we will take what we learn and go from there!

Special Feature Blind Reaction Series:

The immensely talented Campbell McKinzie has been releasing a sequence of music videos, over the last few months, that are segments of his 86 minute song that he is releasing (also in segments). These videos and this music is so good, I’ve decided to feature them in a group of their own series of Blind Reactions. In November, we saw the 3rd Episode release with the animated video for (The) Last Notes of Ada Lovelace and the 4th episode will be releasing by the end of the month!

What is Happening in December?

As we close out the year, I have been thinking that it would be nice to reflect a bit on independent artists and the music of 2025. So, in addition to the typical content; reviews, spotlights, blind reactions, interviews, and now video blogs, there will be annual recaps of some of the more significant moments of the year.

Everybody I review is special to me. I remember every single person I’ve ever written about or conducted a blind reaction for, but there has been a lot to happen in a year. At this time last year, I hadn’t even published 75 articles, and it was still on the blog space I was purchasing. 2025 has seen the launch of a website, nearly 150 new publications, a short film, and lots of new music and artists to discover! I feel that is all noteworthy and should be celebrated.

The December Campaign

For the month of December, I am opening the campaign to any release in 2025. I want to make sure everyone had a chance to submit music for the year. If an artist submitted music earlier this year and it wasn’t covered, please submit again and I will try my best to feature your music on this platform.

Any single, EP, or Album release, any music video, that was released in 2025 is eligible for review. If you know any musicians that I should be considering for a review, nominate their release, tell them how to submit music, refer them to me. Let’s let every artist have a chance to have their music amplified!

The First Second Interview!!!

I am really excited about my upcoming interview. I’ve reviewed and interviewed this artist before and, I gotta say, they have been one of the most compelling artists I’ve had the privilege of featuring on this platform. Last year, I reviewed the surprising and stunning album, Tales of a Failed Altruist, by New York indie artist, Han. I also had the opportunity to sit down with them and I have to say, Han is one of the most interesting people I’ve had the privilege to get to know. Their new EP, am i still enough? is releasing next week and, in addition to a review of the work, there will be a second featured interview released as well. I’m really looking forward to sharing this with you all.

Holidays

Last year, I decided to take a couple weeks off of FMOF to spend time with my family. This year, instead of blocking full amounts of time off, I will be scaling back publications a bit for the entire month. I will still be working on content for the entire month, there will just be a little less than normal. In an effort to be fair to artists who are releasing this month, I think that will be the best approach. Additionally, I have my own release I am still trying to promote for, and I hope to be able to balance time with my family, FMOF, and promoting Evaporate as well.

Final Thoughts

For the last couple of months, I have released one article that has been a sort of “thought dump,” where I’m not necessarily featuring an artist or music, in particular, though the post has been inspired by one or many musicians. In September, I published How to Break a Spirit then last month, I published the article about Nashville’s hometown heroes, Eastern Block.

I want to start introducing a little bit of content like this. However, I’m not the only one with an opinion. If you want to submit an article to be featured on the FMOF platform, please send your submissions to:

Disclaimer: anything that is published in this platform is obviously representative of Fifteen Minutes of Fame and, therefore, I will be serving as editor. That being said, I am I major advocate for the first amendment and I am strongly opposed to censorship. The only thing I will be censoring is harmful rhetoric, hate speech, false, or any content that is similarly or equally offensive.

I hope you all consider submitting your thoughts on the culture of independent music. I would love to hear those thoughts and share them on our platform!

Evaporate

Evaporate, Cover Art

November saw the first release ahead of my upcoming album, Evaporate. Drakes Creek Park officially released on November 21st and I am so proud and happy to have this music out in the world for you all to hear.

I want to thank everyone who has taken a moment to listen to the song, give their feedback, and otherwise show support. I have immense gratitude for you all.

We are all here because we know how hard it can be to market ourselves. When navigating a community of people who are focused on trying to have their own voices heard, we can lose sight of how important it is to reciprocate that energy and listen to others who are also trying to be heard. That’s not what Fifteen Minutes of Fame is about. Sadly, I don’t get to everybody who submits to this platform, but I make an effort to listen to as many of you as I can. Even if an artist doesn’t get featured on this platform, I still try to make an effort to listen to and support them.

It means so much to me when I see some of the relationships I’ve made over the last year and a half show that same support. So, thank you to those of you who have bought an album, downloaded a song, streamed music, dropped a line of support, or otherwise supported me and my music.

Happy Holidays

Lastly, I want to wish everyone the very best this holiday season. No matter your creed or religion, this time of year can be special and meaningful for a lot of different reasons. Personally, it is where I like to give focus to my family. I love spending time with my family as we decorate for the holidays, watch Christmas movies, give and receive gifts, and make all kinds of comfort food.

I hope you all have traditions you share with loved ones. I hope you get to continue those traditions or you have opportunities to make new memories! So, from me and the Fifteen Minutes of Fame-ily,

Happy Holidays!

  1. It’s always good to scale back a bit and focus on the family… And I’m curious to see what kinds of opinion pieces your readers share in the new year!
