Kill the Pain is the first release in two years by Nashville-based independent recording artist, Madyson Left. It released today, October 30th and it runs at around fifteen seconds under three minutes. It was released through Alice Rose Group.
Like his Start Again EP from 2024, Kill the Pain is heavily influenced by Roots and Country music but also has a distinct alternative pop sound to it as well. It is a slower groove, but not quite a ballad. Primarily, it features light percussion and layered acoustic guitars. The pleasant surprise of this song are the woodwind instruments that provide ornamentation throughout most of the track.
Left’s songwriting continues to be very personal and very sincere, as he describes struggling with demons, addictions, and the pendulum that struggling with sobriety can become. His vocal performance stays home in an upper baritone and the tonal quality is perfect. There are layered backing vocals that are pulled back giving the lead quite a bit of the spotlight.
Madyson Left is way too good of an artist for him to not be heard of. Every song he’s released is more than qualified for radio play and frankly, much bigger platforms than this one should be featuring him. Kill the Pain is the perfect release for fall. Make sure to put it on all of the playlists you listen to while watching the leaves change, sipping on your favorite pumpkin spice concoction, and eating a warm fresh cinnamon roll.
Go press play.
